Q: What is event registration insurance?
A: Event Registration ProtectorSM from Allianz Global Assistance insures your event registration fees against unforeseen circumstances, giving you greater peace of mind about making the purchase. If a traffic accident, medical issue, mechanical breakdown, jury duty or other covered reason prevents you from attending the event, you will be reimbursed 100 percent of the registration cost, including taxes and other charges, up to a maximum coverage amount.

Q: Why do I need event registration insurance?
A: Event registration insurance insures the financial investment you make in event registrations, including taxes and other charges (up to the amount of your policy limits), in case you are not able to attend the event for a covered reason.

Q: Are there any restrictions or limitations of the insurance?
A: Yes. Every insurance plan contains restrictions and limitations. Pre-existing medical conditions is one of these limitations. For the exclusions, conditions and limitations that may apply, please refer to your Certificate of Insurance/Policy or contact us, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

A: Yes. Event Registration ProtectorSM insurance must be purchased separately for each event.

A: Yes. For fastest service, modify your policy online by selecting "Manage Your Policy" from the home page. You may incur additional costs for changes to your policy.

Q: How do I cancel my policy? back to top
A: For fastest service, cancel your policy online by selecting "Manage Your Policy" from the home page. For a full refund of your premium, you must cancel within 10 days of purchase and have not filed a claim or attended your event.

Q: If I decide I don't want the Event Registration Protector insurance, can I get my money back? back to top
A: Allianz Global Assistance will refund your insurance premium if you cancel your insurance within 10 days of purchase and have not filed a claim or attended your event.

Q: If I do not attend the event for any reason, do I always get my money back? back to top
A: No. Event Registration ProtectorSM insurance will only refund prepaid, nonrefundable payments if you have to cancel for a covered reason. Covered reasons include sudden medical emergencies, death of a family member or companion, mechanical breakdown or traffic accident en route to the event, being called for jury or military duty, or having your home rendered uninhabitable. Please see your Certificate of Insurance/Policy for complete details. If you simply change your mind, you will not be eligible for benefits.

A: Event Registration ProtectorSM insurance covers a number of reasons you may not be able to attend the event, including serious and unforeseen illness; injury or death of you, a covered family member or event companion; traffic accidents that could prevent you from getting to an event; your home or business is uninhabitable due to fire, flood, vandalism, burglary or natural disasters; and employer termination. Q: What is a pre-existing medical condition? back to top
A: A pre-existing medical condition is an illness or injury for which you, your event companion or family member were seeking or receiving treatment or had symptoms of on the day you purchased the Event Registration ProtectorSM insurance, or at any time in the 120 days before you purchased it. This also includes being required to take prescribed drugs or medicine unless the illness remains controlled without any change in the required prescription. Please note that you may still be covered for losses caused by reasons other than those related to an existing medical condition. See your Certificate of Insurance/ Policy for details.

A: Insurance coverage is underwritten by BCS Insurance Company (OH, Administrative Office: Oakwood Terrace, Ill), rated "A-" (Excellent) by A.M. Best Co., under BCS Form No. 52.201 series or 52.401 series, or Jefferson Insurance Company (NY, Administrative Office: Richmond, VA), rated "A" (Excellent) by A.M. Best Co., under Jefferson Form No. 101-C series or 101-P series, depending on the insured's state. Allianz Global Assistance and Allianz Travel Insurance are brands of AGA Service Company. AGA Service Company is the licensed producer and administrator of this plan and an affiliate of Jefferson Insurance Company. The insured shall not receive any special benefit or advantage because of the affiliation between AGA Service Company and Jefferson Insurance Company.
