How to get travel insurance protection for pre-existing conditions

A pre-existing condition is any injury, illness, or medical condition that, within the 120 days prior to and including your policy purchase date, caused you to seek medical care, presented symptoms, or required you to take medication prescribed by a doctor (unless the condition or symptoms are controlled by that prescription, and the prescription has not changed).

Your plan was purchased within 14 days of the date of the first non-refundable trip payment or deposit
You were a U.S. resident when the plan was purchased
You were medically able to travel when the plan was purchased
You insured the full non-refundable cost of your trip when you bought the plan (If you incur additional non-refundable trip expenses after you purchase this policy, you must insure them within 14 days of their purchase.)
